Che Det and his successful in politics



Che Det was introducing the Look East Policy (Dasar Pandang ke Timur) to emulate the work ethics Eastern countries , especially Japan . The best example is the construction of complex Dayabumi and Penang Bridge

In 1982, Che Det was introduced the concept of corporasation in which Government and private sector work together in generating economic growth. Announced the privazation policy to increase productivity and effectiveness while reducing financial and administrative burden of the government.
Proton Saga began to be exported in the United Kingdom in 1989 and since than it is a major contributor to United Kingdom export markets Proton . In 1990 , the existing engine upgraded to 12-valve engine producing 75 bhp horsepower to the model 90 bhp 1.3L and 1.5L engines . Furthermore , additional safety features such as rear seat belts and the third brake light is also installed.

In September 1985, first car from Malaysia was introduced. That was Proton Saga.


Vision 2020

Che Det launched of Vision 2020, the road towards a fully developped nation in terms of economic, political, social, spritual, psychological and cultural. He launced Vision 2020 in 1991 as a step to familiarize of Malaysia with the future he planned for the country. Vision 2020 was a thirt-year plan of the steps needed to be taken by Malaysians to ensure the rapid development of the country that was stemmed by none other than Che Det himself. According to him, in order for Malaysians to proceed towards its goals, the citizens of Malaysia were to face nine challenges. Not just that, this vision was also used to establish a single.




During his time, Che Det also reached out to improve the development of the science and technology sector in Malaysia. He had previously said that he did not want Malaysia to be left behind in the new IT-based industries and business. Thus, a Japanese business consultant, Kenichi Ohmae had helped him to understand the rapidly unfolding developments of the science and technology sector.


As a result, Che Det had decided to build Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) situated at Cyberjaya. According to Che Det, the range of industries using information and conducting research on information-based technology and its applications, together with various other businesses based on information technology and telecommunications, would be located. Moreover, science and technology has been emphasized in the Vision 2020. Malaysians have to start innovating and developing on our own, not just be passive recipients and consumers according to Che Det, 2011.





'Surprised' by Che Det


In 2002, Che Det announced that he resigned as an UMNO President. He told all the Umno members when the closing of UMNO genneral assembly. However, the announcement was withdrawn within one hour full of thrilling after persuasion by members  of the Supreme Council of the party and the cries of  "take it back" repeated emotional and tumultumous sadness representatives Merdeka Hall, PWTC.




Everyone was panic and stopped Che Det.

Che Det became active in the Unted malays National Organisation (UMNO), Malaysia's largest political party. And was elected to its policy makin group, the Supreme Council. With the support of the UMNO, he won a seat in House of Representatives in 1964. He wrote a book, The Malay dilemma, demandingaffirmative action for indigenous Malays and equal status with Chinese-Malaysians. And Che Det also criitizing Malays' "economic backwardness". The Umno banned the book and expelled Mahathir from the party.

Prime minister, Abdul Rahman resigned in 1970. And after Che Det was reinstated in the UMNO in 1972, his political career took off. Che Det reelected to the parliament in 1973. He was also promoted to a cabinet position and rose deputy prime minister in1976. He became prime minister just five years later when his predecassor, Tun Hussein Onn, retired.

CHE DET'S FAMILY


On 1954, Che Det was submissived as a medical officer at Alor Setar, Jitra, Langkawi, and Perlis until 1957. After that he got married with his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali on 5 August 1956 and the got five children. 3 boys, one girl and 3 adopted.

Che Det's children are Marina Mahathir, Mirzan Mahathir, Melinda Mahathir, Mokhzani Mahathir, Mukhriz Mahathir, Maizura and Mazhar. In 1957, Che Det stopped for working at government hospital. Then, he opened his own clinic. The clinic was named as MAHA clinic which is located at Jalan Tunku Ibrahim.

CHE DET. Do you familiar with that nickname? For your information, Che Det is one the best leader in Malaysia.

Che Det or his full name is Mahathir bin Mohamad. Also known as Tun Dato' sri Mahathir bin Mohamad. He was born on 10 July  1925. Now, he is 88 years old and he still has a good health condition.





Actually, Che Det was the fourth Prime Minister. Che Det held the post for 22 years. From 1981-2003. So far, he was a longest-serving prime minister in Malaysia, His political carrier  spanned almost 40 years. During Che Det's tenuture as prime minister, Malaysia experienced a period of rapid mordenisation and economic growth. Che Det also was a dominant political figure.







Che Det was born and raised in Alor Setar, Kedah (Aor). He got his early education at Sekolah Melayu Seberang Perak, Alor Setar, Kedah. After he passes the exam, he further his studies  at Government English School (GES) which is now known as Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid, Alor Setar in 1932. When all the school were closed when Japanese era in Malaya, he had opened a small cofee stall and he sold fried banana.


After world war 2, Che Det continue his studies at the same school on 1945 until Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). After that he was studying at Kolej Perubatan King Edward VII, Universiti Malaya, Singapura. And he was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) on 1953. After that, he was assigned as a practical doctor at Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang, Malaysia,
